The Cortona Saxophone Sessions program (special for 2018) is open to saxophone performers age 18 and over.
Performers specializing in both traditional and contemporary music, especially those with extensive chamber music experience, are encouraged to apply. Accepted performers will be arranged into quartets, and assigned to instruments according to what instruments they are able to bring. The quartets will be assigned a variety of repertoire. Each performer will also receive private and/or group lessons with the performance faculty. All fellows will also be part of the Cortona Saxophone Collective, which will work on preparing a program for performance at the World Saxophone Congress in Zagreb following the conclusion of the Sessions. Cortona Saxophone Sessions fellows will travel to the WSC together.
The Cortona Saxophone Sessions provides student saxophonists from around the world an opportunity to work closely with faculty members in private lesson and chamber coaching situations, network with peer saxophonists, to perform at the World Saxophone Congress in Zagreb with Sessions faculty members, and to have a unique cultural experience in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.
Join us to celebrate both the saxophone and la dolce vita!
