cortona sessions

for new music

Ede, Netherlands

July 19–August 1, 2026

One of the world’s premiere educational programs dedicated to the creation and performance of contemporary music, the Cortona Sessions is a destination for emerging composers and performers seeking to collaborate, learn, grow, and create. The Sessions provide participants with an inspiring and supportive environment in which new music is explored in all its possible forms.

Over the course of ten days, we gather as a group to enjoy dozens of thrilling musical performances, engage in thought-provoking discussions about musical creativity and careers in the arts, and build the relationships that will shape our future musical lives. At the Cortona Sessions, we use our music-making to promote sharing, friendship, excitement, learning, and love. We strive for musical excellence in an atmosphere of community and compassion. We hope you will join us.
